Nia is a unique movement practice that fuses the dance, martial and healing arts together to create a transformational experience. 9 | 13/9/23 | Make Mending Fun | Mending clothes can seem a chore, but it can be fun when shared with others - and by using creative approaches. In this session, we are joined by Monica Andrews who will teach us about clothing sustainability and how to draw on the Japanese boro technique to revive torn clothing and brighten our wardrobes in a sustainable fashion. Monica is currently working on a PHD in clothing sustainability and runs the textiles section of the ANU repair cafe. Bring along torn clothing and patches of fabric if you have them. All mums of kids aged 0-5 welcome. |

2 | 3/5/23 | Visual Language Workshop | This week we welcome Danika from @Visual Language Connections. During this session we will learn the basics of Key Word Sign and how as a parent you can incorporate some visual language strategies into your home. Key Word Signing incorporates slow, simplified speech and individual hand signs (in Australia we use Auslan signs). It's great for anyone learning a language or children/adults who respond to visual communication strategies. Learn some foundation information about the benefits of using visual language to support expressive and receptive language. All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |
3 | 10/5/23 | Shower Steamers | Like a bath bomb but for your shower! With winter coming, these DIY shower steamers with lavender and eucalyptus will be great to clear your stuffy sinuses and relax after a long day. Today we will be making a batch each, and decorating jars to take them home in. All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |

Sashiko is a type of traditional Japanese stitching used for the decorative and functional reinforcement of clothing. All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |

8 | 14/6/23 | Window Stickers | This week we are making self-adhesive window clings great for sticking to windows, glass, mirrors and more. Draw or trace your design onto a plastic sheet with leadline, and then colour it in with glass paint. |

If you have a game you would like to play with the group, please bring it along! All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |
2 | 8/2/23 | Tie Dye totes & scrunchies | Let’s get groovy with some bright and colourful tie dye! Tote bags, scrunchies and socks will be provided by MWG for you get creative with. If you would like to tie dye some clothing, please bring along a couple of white items in your child/ren's size. Please note we will be swapping rooms with the childcare this week due to the messy nature of the activity. All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |

Acrylic paint pouring is a fluid painting technique used to create art by pouring acrylic paint onto a canvas or surface using many different techniques. These make amazing marbling patterns. Not one painting is the same. All mums of kids 0-5 welcome. |
8 | 22/3/23 | Decluttering | Sometimes getting your stuff in order is hard going. It helps if you’ve got someone there to “hold your hand” and give you tips and advice along the way... Today we welcome Virginia from Get Well Sorted to answer all our questions about decluttering and help us get a feel for what deserves a space in our homes as we work towards making it a place that reflects who you are and where you want to be. 3 | 26/10/22 | Physio Health Talk | Today we are joined by Womens Health Physiotherapist Lauren Riddell for an informal chat about women’s health. Lauren Specialises in pelvic floor, incontinence, prolapse, sexual health and lactation. She has plenty of tips and tricks to share with us and looks forward to answering your burning questions. |

8 | 7/9/22 | Embroidery | This week we welcome multiskilled artist Hangama Obaidullah to teach us embroidery. Hangama came to Canberra as a refugee from Afghanistan, and her work draws on her Afghani heritage, her homeland, and its history. |

Afterwards we will run a short session applying one of our photos to a canvas. Bring an 8 x 10 inch photo, or alternatively you can email one to us for printing, the week before the session. |
